De Leon, Daniel
(14 dic. 1852, Curaçao, Antillas Neerlandesas–11 may. 1914, Nueva York, N.Y., EE.UU.).

Socialista estadounidense de origen holandés. Llegó a EE.UU. en 1874 y en 1890 ingresó al Partido Laboral Socialista; pronto se convirtió en uno de sus dirigentes. Como le pareció que los líderes sindicales eran poco radicales, encabezó una facción que se separó de Los caballeros del trabajo en 1895 y luego formó la Alianza socialista del comercio y el trabajo (STLA). En 1905 colaboró en la fundación de Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) (Trabajadores industriales del mundo), que absorbió a la STLA. En 1908, unos extremistas que se oponían a su estilo político y que promovían tácticas más violentas le negaron el acceso a la convención de IWW. Creó, entonces, el Sindicato internacional de trabajadores industriales, que no prosperó.
